What will you do as Buyer at Century Fence?

Century Fence is looking for a dedicated Buyer who will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials, supplies, and equipment needed for our projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing to meet company needs. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of supply chain management experience, knowledge of construction or fencing materials and strong negotiation skills.

Key responsibilities:

• Identify and source all materials, tools, and equipment required for commercial fencing projects, including fencing materials (e.g., wood, steel, chain-link, vinyl), gates, posts, and hardware.
• Establish and maintain relationships with current and potential suppliers, ensuring quality standards and timely delivery. Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to maximize cost savings.
• Monitor inventory levels, placing orders as needed to prevent shortages, and ensuring adequate stock levels for all ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Ensure that all materials purchased meet the quality standards and specifications required for each project.
• Collaborate closely with the Senior Buyer to understand customer demand, forecasted sales, and product requirements, ensuring alignment between procurement and sales goals.

What you bring:

• 1 - 2 years' experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Ability to stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, climb, and reach regularly as part of daily work.
• Capable of lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs consistently and using shop equipment and tools safely.
• Experience in negotiating pricing, terms, and conditions to maximize cost savings.
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with current and potential suppliers.
