The Construction Superintendent will oversee the preparation and coordination of fence construction projects for subcontractor installation crews by managing project timelines, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and ensuring that all necessary materials, permits, and resources are available for successful project completion. Key Responsibilities:
- Layout projects by reviewing project blueprints and specifications with customers to prepare and plan for each phase of the fence construction project.
- Prepare project site for installation by ensuring proper access, calling for public utility locates, material delivery, and all safety measures are in place.
- Schedule and organize subcontractor installation teams, ensuring they have the necessary resources to perform their tasks including but not limited to; preparing sub pay, project billing, and communicating any changes with estimator/project manager.
- Enforce strict safety guidelines on all job sites and ensure all crew members are trained in safety procedures.
- Verify that all work complies with local codes, permits, and zoning laws.
- Ensure all materials, tools, and equipment required for the project are available on-site and properly stored.
- Track job costs labor hours, and material usage to ensure the project stays within budget.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, changes, and any delays or disruptions.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Frequent use of hands for grasping the steering wheel and computer typing.
- Frequent use of feet for operating brake and accelerator as well as walking.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds during workday and then up to 100 pounds in the shop, due to maintenance.
- Prior construction management experience.
- Understand blueprints (read and comprehend).
- Knowledge of scheduling work teams and material.
- High school degree or GED
